Located in San Francisco’s Hunters Point Redevelopment area, the Hudson Residence strives to revive this up-and-coming area. The project was developed with the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency and the Bayview Project Area Committee during the planning and design phases. The project was designed to be LEED Silver certified with the US Green Building Council. Some features of sustainable design strategies include: an inner court to maximize natural light, rapidly renewable materials such as bamboo flooring, minimum site disturbance by balancing cut and fill during excavation, and fenestration alignment to encourage natural ventilation. The design was well-received by both the community and the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency.
