The North Main Metrolink Station Parking garage is the first parking structure for mass transit for the Metrolink transit system. The conceptual design and the entitlement process started in 2003 with the Corona Planning Department. The entire project includes a pair of new 6-story garages that will be perceived as the gateway to the future North Main Entertainment Center.
This phase one garage provides 1,050 spaces with a pedestrian bridge connecting to the future phase two garage. Considering the scale and the context of the south side of the site, architectural undulating precast panel were proposed to echo the robust characteristic of the freeway. The similar colored panels were used along the north side of the garage to address the future residential development. With the three dimensionality of panels, the south facade is constantly offering a theatrical look with shadow and shade. Wing was the Senior Designer from conceptual design to construction administration when he was with Chong Partners Architecture.
